Joshua Gonzalez , 40 years old from Angola , Louisiana , was sentenced to 72 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute cocaine , heroin , marijuana , and methamphetamine . He was also given five years of supervised release . Kevin Narcisse , a 38 - year - old from Angola , Louisiana , is looking at 60 months in federal prison for his involvement in distributing drugs like cocaine , heroin , marijuana , and methamphetamine . He ' ll have to spend five years on supervised release after his term . Xavier Johnson , a 39 - year - old dude from Baton Rouge , Louisiana , got hit with an 80 - month prison sentence for his involvement in distributing drugs like cocaine , heroin , marijuana , and methamphetamine . He ' ll have to serve three years on supervised release once he ' s out of prison . Nelson Tippen , a 44 - year - old from Angola , Louisiana , got sentenced to 48 months in federal prison for his involvement in distributing drugs like cocaine , heroin , marijuana , and methamphetamine . After he serves his time , he ' ll have to spend three years on supervised release . These guys all admitted to being part of a drug distribution conspiracy between February 2017 and May 2019 . They worked together to get drugs in and out of the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola , along with other places , using correctional officers and non - incarcerated people . They were all about making money from selling these illegal substances . Most of the drugs they distributed were sent from California to addresses in Baton Rouge . U . S . Dudley Melancon , a 35 - year - old from Angola , Louisiana , got sentenced to 72 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute marijuana and methamphetamine . He ' ll also have to serve three years on supervised release after his term . Ismael Ochoa , a 37 - year - old from Riverside , California , got hit with a 90 - month prison sentence for dealing drugs like cocaine , heroin , marijuana , and methamphetamine . He also got in trouble for traveling to help with a racketeering enterprise . Once he ' s out of prison , he ' ll have to spend three years on supervised release . Attorney Gathe emphasized the importance of working together to combat large criminal networks and drug trafficking . Through partnerships with federal , state , and local agencies , 13 defendants were held accountable for distributing narcotics through Angola State Penitentiary . The FBI , along with other agencies , will continue targeting criminal enterprises involved in drug trafficking . This collaborative effort was led by the FBI and the United States Postal Inspection Service , with support from various other agencies . The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys . This operation was part of the OCDETF program , which aims to dismantle high - level criminal organizations .
