City of Reno Nevada - Reno Community Partners to Host Black History Month Celebration 01 January 2100 ( news )

This Black History Month , the City of Reno is proud to partner with the Northern Nevada Black Cultural Awareness Society ( NNBCAS ) , Our Story , Inc . , and Tabnie ( Tab - nee ) Dozier ( doh - zsher ) Enterprises to host a special Black History Month celebration on February 15 at 5:00 PM at City Plaza . Media partners and the public are invited to attend .

What: Black History Month Celebration
When: Thursday , February 15 at 5:00 p . m .
Where: Reno City Plaza
Who: Representatives from NNBCAS , Our Story , Inc . , Tabnie Dozier Enterprises , and City of Reno
During the celebration , community and city representatives will provide brief remarks , including a proclamation presentation in front of the BELIEVE sign , followed by a Unity Walk to City Hall .
The BELIEVE sign is illuminated in red , yellow and green throughout Black History Month . The colors symbolize solidarity , unity , and pride .
The celebration will continue inside Reno City Hall . Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about Black History Month and the rich contributions of Black leaders in the Biggest Little City , view a display from the Northern Nevada African American Firefighter Museum , enjoy small bites from local Black - owned businesses , and network .
