   CHESTERFIELD COUNTY , VA – 
   Chesterfield County Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 3400 block of Meadowdale Blvd at about 11:09 p . m . on Tuesday , December 26 , 2023 .
   Police said they received a 911 call about a subject that had been shot outside a residence . Upon the arrival of officers , a victim was located suffering from an apparent gunshot wound . The victim was transported to an area hospital where they succumbed to their injuries .  
   The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending the notification of next - of - kin .
