Preliminary information: On February 28 , 2024 , at approximately 10:04 p . m . , Atlanta Police Zone 3 officers responded to a report of a person stabbed near 12 Atlanta Ave . SW . Upon arriving on the scene , officers located a 56 - year - old male victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds . The victim was alert , conscious , and breathing and was transported to the hospital by ambulance . Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was in a verbal dispute with a known suspect that escalated to the victim being stabbed . Investigators with the Aggravated Assault Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident . The investigation continues .
