Visitors to City parks who happen to see a crime being committed should call the Yuma Police Department at 928 - 783 - 4421 or download and utilize the YPD mobile app . To remain anonymous , use the YPD app or call 78 - CRIME at 928 - 782 - 7463 . For emergencies , call 911 .

“Parks are popular and important community spaces . Preliminary findings from the public outreach portion of the Parks , Arts , Recreation and Trails Master Plan process indicate that Yuma’s residents place a high value on these spaces – more so than in most other cities the consultant has studied , ” said Parks and Recreation Director Eric Urfer . “Usage rates are very high and the survey overwhelmingly validates that parks are important in Yuma . With that level of value and usage in mind , it is important for the City to focus on ensuring park visitors have a positive and enjoyable experience . First and foremost , residents simply want their parks to safe and well maintained . One very important program that will help us achieve that goal is to employ an effective park patrol program . ”
City of Yuma Parks are open from sunrise to 11 p . m . daily .
