The City of Yuma , through the Parks and Recreation’s Arts and Culture division , invites the public to an event that releases findings that connect the arts to the economy .
   The in - depth results of the latest Arts and Economic Prosperity Study ( AEP6 ) will be shared from 1 to 2:30 p . m . Monday , Jan . 29 at the Historic Yuma Theatre , 254 S . Main St . in Yuma .
   AEP6 is Americans for the Arts’ study of the nonprofit arts and culture industry ' s impact on the economy . The City’s Arts and Culture division participated in AEP6 , which documents the economic contributions of the arts in 373 diverse communities and regions across the country , representing all 50 states and Puerto Rico .
   The keynote presentation will be given by Randy Cohen , Vice President of Research at Americans for the Arts . Participants are invited to network before the program begins . Hors d’oeuvres will be served .

   “The AEP6 findings confirm the economic value of arts and culture , ” said Arts and Culture Program Manager Ana Padilla . “Arts and culture activities are economic drivers for local economies by prompting consumer spending at restaurants , hotels , and other local businesses . Arts tourists spend twice as much and stay twice as long when they travel . By supporting the arts , communities can better attract businesses and personnel . ”
