Thank you MFD for assisting with the roof collapse at 32 Washington Blvd . that occurred during the recent severe weather event . This is a 21 - unit apartment building .  Mundelein firefighters assisted with the evacuation process and the safety and damage assessments . A 30 - foot by 30 - foot section of the roof was blown off at the southwest corner of the building .   59 residents of the 21 units are now displaced . MFD contacted the Red Cross to assist with sheltering for the displaced residents who did not have family with whom to stay .   The Mundelein Building Department deemed the building uninhabitable .
