This weekend on Feb . 25 , we are thrilled to announce that Mundelein will be VERY WELL REPRESENTED at the 2024 Polar Plunge thanks to the 38 team members of the Mundelein PD Frozen 5 . 0 team who are all set to participate! Mundelein has earned two prestigious honors:
   Most Members ( 38 ) and
   Top Team ( $10 , 517 raised ALREADY exceeding their initial goal of $8 , 000! )  
   Funds raised through this community initiative benefit more than 21 , 000 traditional Special Olympic Illinois athletes and 9 , 000 Young Athletes across the state , helping to provide them with life - changing programming . This includes year - round training and competition , as well as leadership , personal development , and health education opportunities .
