Each year , the Mundelein Economic Development Commission ( EDC ) recognizes a select number of businesses for their accomplishments and contributions to the community during the prior year . For 2023 , the EDC selected eight businesses to receive the coveted Gold Star Business award in four categories: Business Investment and Expansion , Community Involvement , Customer Service , and Mundy Pride . The businesses were recognized at Mundelein’s annual Business Appreciation Breakfast .
