Mayor Catherine “Cat” Moy presented a proclamation to Senior Health Services Manager Jayleen Richards of Solano County Public Health at the Fairfield City Council meeting on February 20 , 2024 , in recognition of National Cancer Prevention Month . The Mayor is a cancer survivor and spoke of the importance of early treatment and prevention .
According to the American Cancer Society , nearly 1 , 958 , 310 Americans will be diagnosed with cancer this year and more than 609 , 820 will die . However , research shows that up to half of all cancer cases and deaths are preventable with the knowledge and education we have today . Visit
