Hours/Shift:
All open operational hours, including early morning, holidays and weekends
Summary of Duties
Under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent or his designee, the individual in this position works on the diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Responsible for semi-skilled ground construction and maintenance work and performs related tasks as required.
Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions
Operates powered equipment in mowing golf course putting greens, aprons, tees, and rough
Operates edger and trimmers
Grades and prepares a soil plant bed, lays sod, plants, vegetative material, and pulls weeds in bed
Changes cups and tee markers
Maintains ball washers, water hazards, and bunkers
Operates light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris
Trims trees, prunes shrubbery, and cultivates shrubs and flowers
Assists in construction of new greens, tees, and fairways by grading, preparing soil and planting
Regular and reliable attendance

ompletes additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Skills
1-year experience in landscaping maintenance
Able to understand and follow detailed written and oral instruction
Ability to learn to operate and to perform minor repairs on all the equipment used at the golf course
Must be available and flexible to work various hours during the week dependent on weather conditions
Must be dependable and able to work with others as well as independently
Must have willingness to perform duties in inclement weather
Must have ability to work in an environment where pesticides and other chemicals are used
Must have ability to learn and understand with training, basic and safe equipment operation procedures
Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license

Work is performed indoors and outdoors while exposed to dampness, fumes, odors, dust, dirt, rain, heat, chemicals, machinery with moving parts and loud noises. The employee may be exposed to wet and humid conditions; toxic and caustic chemicals
Noise level in the work environment is loud when operating equipment
