☷Five Passaic County Residents Charged with Armed Robbery

Five residents from Passaic County in New Jersey were charged with robbing a home in Saddle Brook . The suspects , identified as Jamere Dixon , Jahad Foxworth , Tyra Jones , Jancarlos Rodriguez , and Lanasia Smith , were charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and using a firearm during the crime . They appeared in court on February 28 , 2024 , with Dixon , Foxworth , and Rodriguez being held in custody . Jones and Smith were released on bond . The robbery took place in June 2022 , with Smith providing access to the home by leaving the door unlocked . The suspects stole money , credit cards , and other items before fleeing in a vehicle driven by Jones . They were later caught on surveillance footage trying to use the stolen credit cards at gas stations and a convenience store in Paterson . If convicted , they face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250 , 000 . The investigation was conducted by various law enforcement agencies , including the ATF , Passaic County Sheriff ' s Office , Bergen County Prosecutor ' s Office , New Jersey State Police , and Saddle Brook Police Department , as part of the Violent Crime Initiative to combat crime in the Paterson area . As part of this partnership , different government agencies work together and share resources to go after violent criminals who put the community at risk . The VCI includes various departments like the U . S . Attorney’s Office , FBI , ATF , Drug Enforcement Administration , U . S . Marshals , Paterson Department of Public Safety , Paterson Police Department , Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office , Passaic County Sheriff’s Office , N . J . State Parole , Passaic County Jail , N . J . State Police Regional Operations and Intelligence Center/Real Time Crime Center , and N . J . Department of Corrections . The government is represented by Assistant U . S . Attorneys Jake A .
