☷Federal court forbids Framingham restaurants owner from threatening workers during US Department of Labor investigation litigation

A federal court has ordered that two restaurants in Framingham and their owner cannot threaten or retaliate against their employees during an ongoing investigation by the US Department of Labor . Samba Steak and Sushi and China Gourmet are being accused of violating overtime and recordkeeping rules . The court has also prohibited the restaurants from firing or reducing the hours or pay of employees without proper notice and justification . Additionally , they are not allowed to demand immigration - related documents or instruct employees to withhold information from the department . The restaurants must also provide their workers with a notice of their rights under the Fair Labor Standards Act . In previous investigations , the restaurants were found to have committed wage and recordkeeping violations and had to pay over $250 , 000 in back wages .
