Creative Greensboro , the City of Greensboro ' s office for arts and culture , is hosting a First Friday event , “Ladies Night: An Ode to Women’s HERstory Month , ” for the month of March . The free event takes place 6 - 9 pm , Friday , March 1 , at the Greensboro Cultural Center , 200 N . Davie St .
This special edition of First Friday is curated by The Collective GSO , a dynamic group of local artists dedicated to fostering creativity and collaboration within the community . Since its founding in 2018 , The Collective GSO has been a vibrant force in the North Carolina arts scene , embracing diversity and providing a platform for artists of all backgrounds to showcase their work .
Attendees can look forward to a diverse array of activities and performances happening throughout the evening . Highlights include:
The African American Atelier is hosting the closing exhibition of “The Founding Members Exhibit” featuring performances by singer Jha’mai .
The Arts Alliance of Greensboro is producing a live figure drawing demonstration with Kelly Taylor accompanied by a spoken word performance by Zacaria .
The Center for Visual Artists Art Gallery is hosting the closing exhibition of “We Art Greensboro” with collage - making with Joanne Rich and Jessica Dame .
Live entertainment by Greensboro playwright Pete Turner and a tufting demonstration by artist - in - residence Paige Cox at GreenHill NC , along with open studios in ArtQuest featuring coloring pages of historical women icons .
The culminating residency reception for Rae Cozart at GROW ( Greensboro Residency for Original Works ) , including an artist talk about their residency experience .
Additionally , the Greensboro Cultural Center will come alive with music , live art , and interactive experiences , including a DJ set by Roxci , live art by Ashley Griffen , and a roaming guitar performance by DC . Attendees can also explore a vendor fair featuring a variety of women - owned businesses , artists and creators .
First Friday is free and open to the public , offering an inclusive and accessible opportunity for all members of the community to come together and celebrate the rich diversity of talent in Greensboro .
