Residents are being offered the opportunity to invest in the City of Wilson through an upcoming bond offering . The order period is anticipated to be on Thursday , February 22 .

Pricing is scheduled for Thursday , February 22 , 2024*
Yields and principal maturity amounts will be established at the time of the offering .
Principal Maturing:October 1 , 2026 - 2048
Interest Payable:April 1 and October 1 , beginning October 1 , 2024
Minimum Purchase:$5 , 000
Redemption Provisions:The Bonds will be subject to optional redemption prior to maturity . Please see the Preliminary Official Statement .
Projects:The proceeds of the Bonds , together with other available funds , will be used to finance the cost of the acquisition , construction , and equipping of a public stadium , multipurpose sport and entertainment complex located in two municipal service districts in the City’s downtown area , together with related infrastructure , including the acquisition of land therefor . Additionally , bond proceeds will be used to pay certain costs incurred in connection with the sale and issuance of the 2024 Bonds .
Security:The 2024 Bonds are special obligations of the City . The principal of , premium , if any , and interest on the 2024 Bonds are secured solely by the Trust Estate ( including the Pledged Funds ) as described in the Preliminary Official Statement . Neither the faith and credit nor the taxing power of the City or the State of North Carolina are pledged for the payment of the principal of or interest on the 2024 Bonds , and no owner has the right to compel the exercise of the taxing power by the City or the forfeiture of any of its property in connection with any default on the 2024 Bonds .
Tax matters:Interest on the Bonds will be excluded from federal income tax and will be exempt from all State of North Carolina income taxes .
