On Wednesday , May 18 , 2022 , Graduation was held at the Council Chambers for the Spring 2022 Citizens’ Academy . 23 Participants received a certificate and a send off to celebrate their dedication to 7 weeks of learning about their local law enforcement .  The Fairfield Police Citizens ' Academy is a free program offered to the public to inform those who live and/or work in the city of Fairfield about the inner workings of the police department .  
   One night a week for 3 hours over 7 weeks doesn’t feel like nearly enough time to educate our community members on policies , de - escalation tactics , special forces , SWAT , CNT , K9 , TST , Support Services and Operations .
