Searchlight, Nevada - Closure of Portion of Fort Apache Road Announced in Southwest Valley as Improvement Project Begins March 18 15 March 2024 ( news )

, a portion of Fort Apache Road will be closed in both directions for about 90 days from Raven Avenue ( south of Pebble Road ) to Blue Diamond Road as construction begins for a series of improvements on Fort Apache Road in the Southwest Valley .
The $13 . 2 million project includes installation of new box culverts and storm drains , new streetlights , signage , utility adjustments , and roadway widening and resurfacing improvements on Fort Apache Road between Huntington Cove Parkway and Blue Diamond Road . As part of the project , Fort Apache Road will be widened to two lanes in both directions . A bike lane will be added on both sides of the road , and a new traffic signal will be constructed at Fort Apache and Ford Avenue . A portion of Presley Glenn Avenue east of Fort Apache Road will also be widened and restriped .
“Our Public Works Department is committed to keeping the public updated about lane restrictions and other impacts due to this project , ” said Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones , whose Commission District F includes the area . “It’s never easy to navigate construction work but these improvements are very much needed in this growing part of our southwest valley . Residents who live and work in this area will see a big difference when this work is complete net year . ”

. The estimated completion date for the project is spring 2025 . Hours for most construction work is expected to occur between 7 a . m . to 3:30 p . m . Monday through Friday .
