   CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY: Western Avenue & Eliseo C . Felix , Jr . Way
   The City of Avondale will be conducting underground drainage construction on Western Avenue just west of Eliseo C . Felix , Jr . Way . The project is intended to improve the drainage for properties along 9th Street between Riley Drive and Western Avenue .  
   Work is expected to begin February 12 , 2024 , and be completed by February 24 , 2024 . A partial road closure from 6 a . m . to 4 p . m . weekdays , and possibly Saturdays , will be necessary to complete the construction on Western Avenue . Two - way traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers directing traffic . Visitors to the Avondale Resource Center from points south and west are advised to use Riley Drive .
    
   Schedules are always subject to change because of weather or other unforeseen factors . Please remember to slow down and use caution around construction workers and equipment .
