Position Title:
Assistant Maintenance Supervisor
Status:
Non-exempt, Classified, Full-time
Reports to:
Director of Building & Grounds
Salary:
$14 to $16 per hour (based on experience)

Position Summary:
Assist Washington County Director of Buildings and Grounds with day to day operations and maintenance of assigned facilities
Essential Functions:
Assist with training, daily job assignments and assist in insuring target work assignments are met.
Assist with administrative duties as assigned.
Complete periodic equipment inspections as required by local, state, and federal requirements.
Cover other classifications (including the director) duties during their absence.
Assist in maintaining county buildings and grounds with a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects including but not limited to:
Preforming minor repairs and maintenance in connection with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems with computer control.
Patching a repairing plaster, drywall, and concrete.
Painting
Raking, blowing, and removing leaves, and removing snow from outside walk areas.
Maintain landscape and lawns: water cut and trim shrubs.
Must be comfortable using the following equipment:
County vehicles/trailers
John Deere 670 Tractor or equivalent
John Deere 500 Mower or equivalent
Chainsaw
Powered landscaping tools
Powered carpentry tools
Move Equipment and materials within and between county buildings
May have on-call periods with possible overtime work when emergencies arise in order to prevent disruption of business.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
Required Education & Competencies
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be highly motivated and able to work independently as well as able to work well with others
Valid Driver’s license as daily travel within the county is necessary.
Successful background search for security clearance by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Position type and Expected Hours of Work
Full-time position with varied start times, expected to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend work may also be necessary.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and vibration.
