Black History Is Everyone’s History . The Town of Arlington has roots in the creation of the United States of America and the battles of its founding fathers . This year , as Arlington celebrates Black History Month , we are inviting the community to participate in a series of events grounded in the history that binds us all together .

The Color Purple - Free Movie Screening Open to All
Thursday , February 22nd at 7:00 p . m . , at Capitol Theatre .
Join us for a community screening of the Oscar nominated film , The Color Purple . The Color Purple is a 2023 American coming - of - age musical period drama film based on the stage musical of the same name , which in turn is based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Alice Walker . It tells the story of Celie , an African American woman living in the American South during the early 1900s . Thank you to our partners at the Capitol Theatre for donating the space for this viewing .
