   Preliminary Information: On 2/28/24 , around 12:46am , officers responded to 2299 Beecher Rd in reference to a shooting . Upon arrival , officers learned the male shot had fled the scene and transported himself to Grady . Preliminary investigation indicates the male was involved in an ongoing dispute with his ex - girlfriend and confronted her and her family outside of her home . The male discharged a firearm into the air in front of the home while confronting his ex - girlfriends family members . After demanding the male to leave multiple times , the mother of the ex - girlfriend then discharged her firearm striking the male aggressor . Officers have detained the male who is currently in Grady Detention with charges pending . The investigation continues .
