The Township of Livingston reminds residents of the following regarding the winter storm in the forecast:
The Township is taking measures to prepare . . .
All municipal roads will be salted and cleared throughout the storm .
Road clearing will continue well after the snow ends .

Rave Alert/Smart 911 Emergency Alertsfrom the Police and Township
Stay off roads during the storm .
Keep parked cars off of streets .
Do not shovel or blow snow into the street .
Clear snow from any fire hydrants near your house .
Clear your sidewalks within 24 hours of when snow stops falling .
Clear snow off of your vehicle before driving .
We will all be inconvenienced by the snow . Please be patient!
Garbage and Recycling Collection
In the event that inclement weather prevents your garbage and/or recycling from being collected:
RTS will collect your
garbageon your next regularly scheduled garbage collection day . There is no “make up” day for garbage collection .

recyclingon the next day of the week and all recycling collection moves forward one day for the rest of the week .

In the event that electrical outages occur due to severe weather , residents without power should report their outage:

Safety Tips
Report downed wires immediately to your electrical utility at one of the phone numbers shown above and contact the Livingston Police Department at 973 - 992 - 3000 .
Always stay away from downed wires , even if you believe they are no longer carrying electricity . Use extra caution in areas where downed lines are tangled with trees or other debris .
Drivers approaching intersections with inoperable traffic signals should treat those intersections as four - way stops .
Homebound Residents
Livingston residents who may need help evacuating their home during an emergency should complete the
