The City of Siloam Springs is accepting applications for a Wastewater Plant Operator Class I in the Wastewater Division of the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Collects samples and performs lab analysis of municipal and industrial wastewater, treatment plant process and plant effluent.
2. Maintains records for tests and analysis performed, imputing results into a computer spreadsheet for permanent record and filing hard copies.
Performs unskilled manual labor, as necessary, in a variety of maintenance and construction projects within the Water/Wastewater Department.
Maintain laboratory and equipment within the laboratory.
Monitor performance of equipment, gauges, and charts at the plant and pump stations; maintain, operate, repair or replace as needed.
Calibrate, modify, and repair equipment including flow meters, and other water quality monitoring equipment and instrumentation.
Clean process equipment, tanks, and buildings; maintain plant grounds.
Analyze plant processes and make changes as appropriate.
Control/change chemical feeds as necessary and perform chemical inventory.
Operate sludge dewatering press as necessary.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
