    The San Marcos Creek project team wants to thank you for your patience throughout the major traffic shift we made this week . To recap , we ' ve completed the Bent Avenue bridge , a major milestone for our project and community . The project team also closed Via Vera Cruz and transitioned to construction of the bridge and roadway improvements in that location . This map shows the new traffic pattern you can expect to see in the Creak area over the next few months .    The San Marcos Creek Project is a 214 - acre project adjacent to the San Marcos Creek , generally bounded by: 
   
   
   West San Marcos Boulevard to the north
   
   Grand Avenue to the east
   
   Via Vera Cruz to the west
   
   Discovery Avenue to the south
   
   
   The Creek Project will add the needed infrastructure to reduce long - standing flooding issues and improve traffic circulation while revitalizing and preserving the San Marcos Creek .
