WORKING AVAILABILITY
: The ability to work Monday through Friday 8:00am to 2:00pm. This position will not exceed twenty-nine (29) hours per week.
SEASONAL PERIOD
: May 2024 until September 2024
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF CLASS
: The Public Works Intern will assist the Department of Public works on various projects while becoming familiar with the industry and applicable laws.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
: Supervised by Public Works Supervisor.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
: None
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
:

Assist in garbage clean up (downtown).
Assist in alley clean up throughout the City.
Assist in grass cutting.
Assist in brush pick up.
Assist in painting curbs and fire hydrants.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
:
The incumbent must possess the following minimum requirements in order to successfully perform the essential job duties.
Education
: Working toward or in possession of a high school diploma or GED. Please note that proof may be required prior to extending an offer of employment.
Ability to
:
Have and maintain an active telephone number.
Work a schedule that varies according to work load and weather conditions.
Ability to learn quickly and work with minimum amount of supervision.
