A Very Busy Mental Health Awareness Month!
The ADAMHS Board holds its Annual Meeting Brunch in May each year to celebrate
Mental Health Awareness Month
, but that is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to awareness activities taking place this month . Here is a wrap - up of some of the other activities taking place .
Terminal Tower Will Light Up Green for Mental Health
On May 24 , Terminal Tower will light up green in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month! The ADAMHS Board sought out this opportunity to encourage the community to join in by wearing green , talking about mental health , doing one thing to take care of their mental wellness or by learning more about mental illness .
OSPF’s Life Side Ohio Media Day Event
The ADAMHS Board hosted a media day event for the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation’s ( OSPF ) launch of the
Life Side Ohio
campaign on May 3 . It’s a campaign of direct , suicide prevention outreach dedicated to the firearms community . The event was streamed live on the ADAMHS Board’s Facebook page . As a result of this effort , News 5 ran a story on this campaign and interviewed several individuals , including a local suicide loss survivor .

United Way Community Conversation
The ADAMHS Board , in partnership with United Way , co - hosted a community conversation titled
The Impact of the Pandemic on Mental Health and Substance Use , Access to Care , and Treatment ,
on May 19 . Scott S . Osiecki , CEO , was a panelist alongside Lovell Custard , President and CEO , Murtis Taylor , and Archie Green , Founder and CEO , Peel Dem Layers Back , in this virtual community conversation as part of Mental Health Awareness Month .
Our Stories , Our Healing
This month’s episode of Our Stories , Our Healing was all about mental health . Community members shared what they do to prioritize their mental wellness and how someone can reach out for help if they are struggling with their mental health .

Mentally Mangled Conference for Faith Leaders
Pastor Kyle Earley , who was one of this year’s Helping Hands Award Winners , hosted a conference on May 17 for faith leaders to help them understand how to address their own needs related to mental health while best assisting the members of their churches . The ADAMHS Board was a sponsor of this event .
NAMI Greater Cleveland ' s Annual Meeting
NAMI Greater Cleveland will host its Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony on May 24 . The event will include
keynote speaker , Annette Gantt , Chief Field Relations Officer for NAMI National , and recognition of an outstanding
slate of honorees

National Awareness Efforts
Each year , Mental Health America comes out with a toolkit that partners can use to help promote messaging for Mental Health Awareness Month . Having a widespread understanding mental health can help you be more informed if you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health condition or crisis . That’s why the theme of Mental Health America’s 2022 Mental Health Month Toolkit is “Back to Basics” . Their goal is to provide foundational knowledge about mental health and mental health conditions and information about what people can do if their mental health is a cause for concern .
