☷KC Man Charged After Officers Seize 59 Firearms Including Machine Guns and Illegal Drugs From Residence

A guy in Kansas City was charged in federal court for having a bunch of guns , including machine guns , and drugs in his house . Roberto Rosales Gonzales , 23 , is in custody until his hearing . When the cops searched his place , they found 59 guns , drugs , and cash . He allegedly sold drugs and guns to an undercover agent and informant multiple times . Some of the guns were reported stolen and linked to previous shootings . Gonzales is facing charges for drug possession , having guns in connection with drug crimes , and illegal possession of machine guns . Remember , these are just accusations , not proof of guilt . The charges need to be backed up with evidence that will be shown to a federal trial jury . Their job is to decide if the person is guilty or innocent . Assistant U . S . Attorney Brad K . Kavanaugh is handling the prosecution of this case . The investigation was done by Homeland Security Investigations and the Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives ( ATF ) . This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods ( PSN ) , which is a program that brings together law enforcement at all levels and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence , and make our neighborhoods safer . On May 26 , 2021 , the Department of Justice launched a strategy to reduce violent crime that strengthens PSN . The strategy focuses on building trust and legitimacy in our communities , supporting organizations that work to prevent violence , setting clear enforcement priorities , and measuring the results . This investigation used leads from the ATF ' s National Integrated Ballistic Information Network ( NIBIN ) . NIBIN is the only national network that allows for capturing and comparing ballistic evidence to help solve and prevent violent crimes involving firearms . It ' s a useful tool for law enforcement to quickly disrupt shooting cycles by linking firearms from different crime scenes .
