Jan . 25 Town Hall Update
In this Town Hall Update Arlington’s Town Manager , Jim Feeney , reports on the Recreation Department’s upcoming move to the Parmenter School Building and the Athletic Court Needs Assessment final report . He invites residents to attend the Feb . 8 public input meetings for Parallel Park and Menotomy Rocks Park and urges participation in the annual census and Town Survey .

Arlington Recreation to Move to Parmenter School Building
New location allows Kid Care programs to expand to meet community needs .
Arlington Recreation is excited to announce that beginning next school year ( fall of 2024 ) the Parmenter School at 17 Irving Street will be the new home for Arlington Kid Care . Once again both Preschool and Afterschool programs will be under the same roof . This new facility will allow both programs to grow and adapt to the growing needs of the Arlington community .

Feb . 8 Parallel Park and Menotomy Rocks Park & Picnic Area Public Input Meetings
The Park and Recreation Commission will hold a second public input meeting with the project landscape architectural firm of Copley Wolff for both Parallel Park and Menotomy Rocks Park to solicit input and feedback for the design of playground and park improvements at those locations . Both meetings will be held via Zoom .

Athletic Court Needs Assessment Final Report
Five locations recommended for future improvements .
During 2023 Activitas , Inc . was retained by the Town of Arlington to conduct an Athletic Court Needs Assessment , with a focus on basketball , pickleball , and tennis courts . The Athletic Court Needs Assessment will help the Town prioritize capital projects around athletic courts . Activitas analyzed 19 outdoor Town - owned athletic courts relative to their community needs and renovation potential and made recommendations on 5 locations based on site assessments , recreational trends , and input from the public .

Fill out and Return Your Annual Census
The 2024 Town Census has been mailed . Residents should start to see it as early as this weekend and into next week . Please complete it and return it promptly to the Clerk ' s Office or a Ballot Drop Box whether or not your household has changes to your information . Registered voters who do not return the census will become inactive and may need to complete a form the next time they vote .
Included in the Town Census mailing is information about the Annual Town Survey that all residents are encouraged to take , plus information about voting in the 2024 Elections .
