   Jan . 25 Lunar New Year Celebration at Town Hall
   Lunar New Year is the start of the new year on the lunisolar calendar and most significant celebration of the year for many Asian cultures ( but not all ) , a time to celebrate the arrival of spring and gather with family .  This year the Town of Arlington will celebrate our second annual Lunar New Year on Thursday , January 25th at the Robbins Memorial Town Hall Auditorium from 4 - 6:30 pm with activities , games , crafts and performances .

On January 10 , 2024 the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority ( MWRA ) reported several Sanitary Sewer Overflow ( SSO ) that impact Arlington . The SSOs occurred at the following locations:  Mystic River from Lake View Terrace at Mystic Valley Parkway ( from 6:27AM - 1:30PM )   Alewife Brook from Alewife Brook Pump Station Discharge Side ( from 6:55 AM - 6:55AM )   The Health Department strongly advises residents and their pets not to swim or stand in the water as there may be increased health risks due to bacteria or other pollutants associated with urban stormwater runoff and SSO discharges .
