Monday , 1/8/2024 -
   From Friday , 12/15/2023 , through Tuesday , 1/2/2024 , Bartlett Police Department participated in the Illinois Department of Transportation’s ( IDOT ) 2023 Christmas/New Year’s traffic enforcement campaign . Participation in this statewide traffic safety initiative was fully funded by a grant awarded by IDOT ' s Bureau of Safety Programs & Engineering , which aims to deter impaired driving and seat belt infractions .  
   The police department conducted specialized traffic enforcement , which resulted in 37 vehicles stopped for committing traffic violations:
   Misdemeanor/Ordinance Offenses
   One motorist was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol .
   Two motorists were charged for driving without a valid license .
   Citations
   5 citations for speeding violations .
   7 citations for seatbelt violations .
   2 citations for improper passing of emergency motor vehicle ( Scott’s Law violation )
   19 citations for other moving or non - moving violations .
