Wednesday , 1/3/2024 - Groot will collect Christmas trees at no additional charge for a three - week period following the holidays - on Wednesday , 1/3 , Tuesday , 1/9 and Tuesday , 1/16 .

   Place your tree on the curb with garbage and recycling . If the tree is taller than 8 feet , please trim it to a size shorter than 8 feet . All ornaments and tinsel must be removed . Do not place the tree in a plastic bag . Trees that have decorations on them or are put out after this time period will be picked up but not recycled .
   Groot’s weekly waste pickup day is Tuesday . However garbage is not collected on: New Years Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving; Christmas . If one of these holidays falls on Sunday , Monday or Tuesday , collection will be on Wednesday that week .
