☷Ghost Busted Defendant Who Sold Fatal Fentanyl Doses Sentenced to Two Decades in Prison

A guy from Glynn County , Georgia , has been given a 20 - year prison sentence after admitting to selling drugs that caused two overdoses . Jon Dillon Screen , 32 , was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute and to Distribute 50 Grams or More of Methamphetamine and a Quantity of Fentanyl . He was also ordered to serve five years of supervised release after his prison term . This case is part of Operation Ghost Busted , which involved 76 defendants and aimed to bust a drug trafficking network in the Glynn County area . Screen , a member of the Gangster Disciples , was found to be a major distributor in the operation . Two people died after injecting fentanyl obtained from Screen . Over 70 defendants have already been sentenced , while others are awaiting trial . NeSmith , a 26 - year - old from Brunswick , used illegal cell phones and a corrupt prison guard to run a drug operation while serving a life sentence for murder at Telfair State Prison . He was given a life sentence in federal prison after admitting to being involved in the drug trafficking conspiracy . NeSmith ' s girlfriend , Rachael P . Byrd , also known as "Bird is the Word , " was a major drug dealer and transporter who acted as the link between NeSmith and other drug dealers . She is currently serving a 324 - month sentence after pleading guilty to her involvement in the conspiracy . Operation Ghost Busted , which is the largest drug trafficking prosecution in the history of the Southern District of Georgia , was investigated under the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces ( OCDETF ) . OCDETF aims to identify , disrupt , and dismantle the most powerful criminal organizations that pose a threat to the United States , using a multi - agency approach led by prosecutors and based on intelligence . The investigation involves a bunch of different agencies like the FBI Coastal Georgia Violent Gang Task Force , Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives , U . S . Marshals Service , Georgia Bureau of Investigation , Georgia Department of Corrections , Georgia Department of Community Supervision , Glynn County Police Department , Brunswick Police Department , Glynn County Sheriff’s Office , and sheriff’s offices from Pierce , Camden , Wayne , Treutlen , McIntosh , Toombs , Telfair , Dodge , and Ware counties .
