RICHARDSON POLICE DEPARTMENT
   UPDATE: Investigators have determined that an unknown make and model , white SUV , struck the victim . The white SUV will have damage on the front right bumper and fender , including the headlight .

   Fatality Crash - Hit and Run Investigation
   The Richardson Police Department is investigating the death of 57 - year - old Omar Hammet from Huntsville , TX . On March 3 , 2024 , at approximately 1:50 a . m . , Hammet’s body was found lying partially in the roadway , northbound , in the 800 block of S . Central Expressway .
   Evidence collected at the location indicated Hammet was struck by a vehicle that left the scene . No further information about the vehicle is available and no witnesses have been located .
