☷Farrell Resident Sentenced to Eight Years of Imprisonment for Fentanyl and Cocaine Trafficking

A guy from Farrell , Pennsylvania got slapped with a 96 - month sentence in federal prison for dealing fentanyl and cocaine , according to Eric G . Olshan , the United States Attorney . Maurice Brooks , 37 , was handed the sentence by Judge J . Nicholas Ranjan , who also ordered him to serve three years of supervised release after his prison time . Brooks had previously admitted to distributing fentanyl on May 2 , 2022 , and possessing fentanyl and cocaine with the intent to distribute on June 2 , 2022 . The court learned that Brooks had been dealing fentanyl and cocaine in May 2022 while on parole after being convicted twice for cocaine trafficking in separate state cases . In June 2022 , searches of Brooks ' s homes in Farrell ( Mercer County ) turned up a stolen gun , as well as more fentanyl and cocaine . Craig W . Haller , Assistant United States Attorney , handled the prosecution . Olshan , the United States Attorney , commended the Mercer County Drug Task Force , Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General , Federal Bureau of Investigation , and Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives for their work on the investigation that led to Brooks ' s successful prosecution . This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods ( PSN ) , a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence and making neighborhoods safer . The Department of Justice launched a violent crime reduction strategy for PSN on May 26 , 2021 , which focuses on building trust in communities , supporting organizations that prevent violence , setting targeted enforcement priorities , and measuring results .
