   A guy from Des Moines got sentenced to 15 years in federal prison on April 3 , 2024 for having a gun as a felon . Dominic Gregory Lacava , who ' s 27 and a member of the Crip gang , had four guns over six months . He used the guns for crimes like abusing kids , his partner , and a child , as well as drug offenses . The feds found out about his actions during a bigger investigation into gun trafficking and gang activity . They raided his house and found three guns , two of which he got through someone else buying them for him . After he serves his time , Lacava will have three years of supervised release . There ' s no parole in federal prison . The ATF and Des Moines Police Department worked on the case , which is part of a program to reduce violent crime and gun violence in neighborhoods .
