☷Douglas A Williams Jr Named Special Agent in Charge of the FBI s Houston Field Office

Director Christopher Wray has chosen Douglas A . Williams , Jr . to be the special agent in charge of the Houston Field Office . Mr . Williams previously held the same position in the New Orleans Field Office . He joined the FBI in 2002 as a special agent and worked in the Miami Field Office , where he investigated drug trafficking , violent crime , and organized crime . He later became a supervisory special agent and was transferred to the National Gang Targeting Center in Washington D . C . He even had a temporary assignment in Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom . In 2011 , he moved to the Cincinnati Field Office , overseeing various crime programs and SWAT operations . In 2016 , he was assigned to supervise public corruption and financial crimes in Cincinnati . Later that year , he became an assistant special agent in charge of the Houston Field Office , handling multiple criminal programs . In 2020 , he became a section chief in the Office of Congressional Affairs , managing FBI ' s interactions with Congress . And just recently , in 2021 , he was promoted to special agent in charge of the New Orleans Field Office . Prior to joining the FBI , Mr . Williams served as a police officer and holds degrees in accounting and organizational management and leadership .
