Newly Elected Officials recite the Oath of Office
   The city of Minnetonka along with city council recognized newly elected officials in a ceremonial recitation of the Oath of Office . New to their positions on city council are Patsy Foster - Bolton , Ward 1; and Paula Ramaley , Ward 3 . Re - elected to their seats on city council are Rebecca Schack , Ward 2; and Kissy Coakley , Ward 4 .
   Council awards contract for City Hall Pond Maintenance Project
   City council awarded the contract to Kurilla Contracting for the project which is budgeted in the 2023 - 2027 Capital Improvements Program and 2023 annual storm water maintenance funds . Storm water ponds capture sediments and nutrients and prevent pollutants from reaching our lakes and creeks . As ponds reach the end of their anticipated useful life and require rehabilitation , maintenance improvements ensure they continue to provide water quality benefits .
   Council designates official newspaper
   City council designated the Sun Sailor as the official newspaper for 2024 . State law requires a newspaper to be designated annually to publish legal notices , ordinance titles and summaries , and other official announcements . In addition to print , Sun Sailor may be accessed online .
   Council summarizes city manager performance review
   Mayor Wiersum summarized the annual performance review of City Manager Mike Funk which was held in a closed council session in December . The review indicated a commendable and satisfactory year of service in which Funk exhibited strong leadership , effective decision - making and a commitment to the well - being and progress of the City of Minnetonka .
   Council designates acting mayor and alternate acting mayor
   City council adopted a resolution appointing councilmember Calvert acting mayor , and councilmember Wilburn alternate acting mayor for 2024 .
