☷Billings Felon Sentenced to More Than Two Years in Prison for Illegal Possession of Firearm

A Billings man was sentenced to two years and three months in prison , followed by three years of supervised release , after admitting to illegally having a gun in a car he was driving when he fled from law enforcement and crashed . Christopher Samuel Fear , 38 , pleaded guilty to the charge of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm . The incident occurred in January 2023 when Fear was pulled over for speeding , fled from officers , and crashed the vehicle in Billings . Law enforcement found him hiding under the vehicle with drugs and a loaded gun inside . The case was prosecuted by Assistant U . S . Attorney Lori Harper Suek , with multiple agencies involved in the investigation . This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods ( PSN ) , a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities . For more information , contact Public Affairs Officer Clair J .
