Lewisville Animal Shelter “Pet of the Week” – Dove
In an effort to spread the word about animal adoption and to help these loving animals find fur - ever homes , the City of Lewisville will feature a Pet of the Week each week in this media packet , available for adoption at the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center , 995 E . Valley Ridge .
This week’s featured pet is Dove , a 3 - year - old terrier - pit bull mix . Dove came to the shelter in January as a stray and has loved everyone , dogs and people alike . The shelter staff enjoys this goofy girl because she gets the butt - tuck zoomies so quickly! Dove is vaccinated , wormed , microchipped , heartworm negative , had flea treatment applied , and sterilized .

. Just click on his picture and follow the unique URL to begin an online adoption application . Once the application has been submitted , Lewisville Animal Services will call the applicant on or before the next business day . If approved , staff will counsel the potential adoption and will schedule an appointment for an in - person visit with Dove .
ADOPTION FEES WAIVED FOR ALL ADOPTABLE DOGS OVER 20 POUNDS THROUGH SATURDAY , MARCH 30 .
The Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees through Saturday , March 30 , for adoptable dogs over 20 pounds . The regular adoption fee is $90 .
