The City of Lewisville Engineering Department has started the Southwest Parkway Complete Street Project and is seeking resident input at a Public Meeting on Thursday , March 7 , 5 - 7:30 p . m . , at Lewisville Elementary School ,

Plans call for the design and reconstruction of Southwest Parkway to include bike lanes , parallel parking , pavement marking , enhanced sidewalks , crosswalks , ADA ramps , landscaping , street furniture , and decorative , pedestrian - scale safety lighting from SH - 121 Business to East Corporate Drive .
Freese & Nichols is the consulting firm on this approximately $880 , 000 street project . That firm recently designed the East College Street Improvements project with a similar but smaller scope .
The Southwest Parkway project will be similar to the Main & Mill Corridor project , with an emphasis on access to Glory Park and providing multimodal transportation infrastructure for underserved communities .
The design will be approached with consideration toward health and safety , equity , sustainability , and long - term economic vitality . The design will be consistent with Lewisville 2025 vision plan and the City’s complete streets policy .
The project is estimated to take up to 14 months and include staff review and a public input session , placing the estimated design completion in early 2025 .
