Lewisville Animal Shelter “Pet of the Week” – Orangutan
In an effort to spread the word about animal adoption and to help these loving animals find fur - ever homes , the City of Lewisville will feature a Pet of the Week each week in this media packet , available for adoption at the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center , 995 E . Valley Ridge .
This week’s featured pet is Orangutan . He is a 2 - year - old Terrier mix . He is a little nervous here at the shelter , but that is just because everything is so new . He would be more comfortable in a quiet environment with people that love him . He is vaccinated , wormed , microchipped , heartworm negative , had flea treatment applied , and is sterilized .

. Just click on his picture and follow the unique URL to begin an online adoption application . Once the application has been submitted , Lewisville Animal Services will call the applicant on or before the next business day . If approved , staff will counsel the potential adoption and will schedule an appointment for an in - person visit with Orangutan .
ADOPTION FEES WAIVED FOR ALL ADOPTABLE DOGS OVER 20 POUNDS THROUGH SATURDAY , MARCH 2 .
The Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees through Saturday , March 2 , for adoptable dogs over 20 pounds . The regular adoption fee is $90 .
