Weather Report 
   The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area . Reports include possibly 10 inches of heavy snow and strong winds picking up this afternoon . Snow is expected to increase later this afternoon and fall through midday tomorrow . Driving conditions are extremely dangerous . All are encouraged to avoid traveling if possible .
   Temperatures are expected to drop to subzero this weekend .  Wind chills of 10 to as low as 30 degrees below zero are being reported for Saturday night through Wednesday morning . Limit time outside if possible ,

   Closures
   Village Hall is closing at 2 pm on Friday , January 12 . The Mount Prospect Public Library is also closed due to the weather .
   Coffee with the Council on January 13 is canceled .
   Emergency services are still fully operational .

   Power Outages
   When severe weather causes power outages , ComEd encourages residents who have lost power to call 800 - Edison1 ( 800 - 334 - 7661 ) to report the outage . Outages can also be reported online with the mobile app or via text .

   ComEd relies on both its monitoring program at its Emergency Operating Center and customer reports to determine where there are outages . ComEd encourages customers to call every 8 to 12 hours to ensure restorations do not leave some isolated customers or areas without service . For more information on storm response , visit

   Street parking is prohibited after two inches of snow have fallen .
   Prevent pipes from freezingand bursting by leaving a slow drip of water from your faucets .
