Soldiers from the 153rd Public Affairs Detachment , West Virginia National Guard , have arrived in Hohenfels , Germany to support the Allied Spirit 24 training exercise . This annual event , hosted by the 7th Army Training Command , brings together NATO members and partners to improve cooperation and readiness in various warfighting functions . The main focus this year is on the German Army’s 41st Panzergrenadier Brigade . The 153rd PAD will be providing public affairs support for the 6 , 500 participants for two weeks . They have been preparing for this mission for almost a year and are excited to work alongside their allies . The exercise includes participation from Denmark , Germany , Spain , Netherlands , the United Kingdom , and the United States . The 153rd PAD will be showcasing the strong relationships between NATO allies and partners through their storytelling and media coverage . This mission marks the unit ' s first deployment outside the United States since 2017 . The soldiers will be writing stories , creating social media content , and capturing photos and videos of the events . The Joint Multinational Readiness Center , located in Hohenfels , is a key training area for U . S . troops in Europe .
