☷Readout of White House Meeting with RSV Immunization Manufacturers

This week , top officials in the Biden - Harris Administration had another meeting with RSV vaccine manufacturers like Sanofi and AstraZeneca . During the meeting , manufacturers talked about recent studies that showed how Nirsevimab can greatly reduce hospitalization rates in infants . The officials and manufacturers also discussed how they can keep updating data on the safety and effectiveness of this vaccine , and make sure there are enough RSV vaccines for infants in the US for the rest of the season . In response to a lot of requests , the manufacturers made an extra 307 , 000 doses available for families , increasing the supply and making them available faster . They also talked about their plans to have enough RSV vaccines for infants before the 2024 - 2025 respiratory season .
