WATER & WASTEWATER EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
WATER DISTRIBUTION & WASTEWATER COLLECTION DIVISION
Base of 40 hours per week/2080 annual hours
Summary:
This hourly position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, installing, constructing, and compliant operation of the City's Water Distribution System and Wastewater Collection System including: making pressurized taps on watermains; laying water lines; main line bores; repairing water breaks; maintaining water service lines and water valves; installing, flushing, repairing fire hydrants; installing water meters; locating water lines and water leaks; repairing manholes and catch basins; repairing, installing, maintaining sewers and force mains; operating temporary pumps and generators; checking and maintaining lift stations; operating jet truck, TV truck, backhoes and dump trucks; insuring proper trench shoring; using hand and power tools; maintaining vehicles and equipment; repairing blacktop and concrete; returning jobsite to original condition; using GIS software and equipment; performing other related duties as assigned.
Requires:
High school diploma or equivalent, Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker Endorsement, Fork Lift certification, and training / work experience that provides the necessary skillset to effectively perform the essential functions of the job. Successful candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including driving record, and physical/medical exam.
Pay & Benefits:
BGEO Pay Grade 5: $23.08 - $29.49/hr OR BGEO Pay Grade 6: $24.24 - $30.94/hr
(Must have Class II OEPA Certifications in
both
Water Distribution & Wastewater Collection for Pay Grade 6). Learn more about
