City warming centers to be open during arctic blast
   Three publicly accessible warming centers will be open in Lewisville this holiday weekend as the City activates its Code Blue program .
   Mayor TJ Gilmore issued a
   local state of emergencyon Thursday , Jan . 11 , ahead of an expected arctic blast that is forecast to bring an extended period of subfreezing temperatures . The declaration activates appropriate portions of the City emergency management plan , such as those related to Winter Weather Hazard - Specific Supplements .
   The warming centers will be open starting at 10 a . m . , Friday , Jan . 12 , through Wednesday , Jan . 17 .

   Lewisville Public Library
    , 1197 W . Main Street
   The Vista ( Formerly Music City Mall ) , 2401 S . Stemmons Freeway
   The Salvation Army Lewisville
    , 880 Fox Avenue
   The Salvation Army Lewisville is not usually permitted to operate an overnight shelter but is authorized under the Code Blue program when the mayor issues a declaration of emergency .  
   There are no age restrictions , and these warming shelters are open to anyone who needs to use them , but there are some rules at each location . Those rules are:

   Hours:
   Open Friday , Jan . 12 , and Saturday , Jan . 13 - 10 a . m . - 5 p . m .
   Closed Sunday , Jan . 14
   Closed Monday , Jan . 15
   Open Tuesday , Jan . 16 and Wednesday , Jan . 17 - 9 a . m . - 8 p . m .
   Service Animals only
   Beverages in containers with lids are permitted in the library except at public - use computers and electronic equipment . No alcohol allowed .
   Food may be consumed only in the downstairs lobby near the West entrance , or when provided during library programs .
   Weapons are allowed as long as the person is in compliance with state and federal laws

   Open Sunday , Jan . 14 – Noon - 6 p . m .

   Pets are allowed on a leash
   Outside food and beverage is allowed
   Weapons are allowed as long as the person is in compliance with state and federal laws
