Lompoc California - Sidewalk Story Coming to Beattie Park 26 January 2024 ( news )

LOMPOC , CA , January 26 , 2024 – The Lompoc Public Library together with Lompoc Parks and Recreation invite the community to celebrate Lompoc’s permanent story installation display .
A community celebration event is scheduled for 2:30 p . m . to 4 p . m . on Friday , February 16 at the park .
Everyone is invited to explore this new library - funded public program that promotes literacy , family time and physical activity by displaying pages from a children ' s book along a walking path . Every month a new story will be featured in the permanent displays .
The first book to be featured will be “Nosotros Means Us: A Bilingual Story/Un cuento bilingüe” by Paloma Valdivia .
The sidewalk story installation is made possible through the Parks Pass Grant from the California State Library , which encourages library patrons to explore state parks and other outdoor areas . The Lompoc Library also offers state park passes and outdoor adventure packs that can both be checked out from the library .
The February 16 event is set to feature the Charlotte’s Web Bookmobile , Sarrrap Filipino food truck and Tacos y Mariscos El Culichi offering food for sale , local organization booths and more .
