POSITION DUTIES:
Depending on the area of assignment, incumbents may not be required to perform all duties listed
OR
may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
Monitor and supervise day camp participants;
Plan, organize and lead a variety of leisure activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games,
Assist in arranging recreational and educational classes, speakers and field trips;
Monitor and assist in the supervision of participant safety and behavior;
Complete, organize and maintain records of attendance, payments, and other related paperwork.
Set-up, prepare and clean designated areas for activities and events;
Communicate with parents and program participants;
Distribute flyers, promote and provide information to patrons regarding camp activities;
Check and track supplies and materials;
Serve meals to youth on an as-needed basis;
Attend training sessions, workshops, and meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess at least six months of experience working with children in a camp or school setting. Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments. Work may require frequent standing, walking, and bending. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30lbs.
MUST BE ABLE TO:
Participate in the training program
Secure a CPR Certification
Work between June 1st and September 2

Express maturity in thought and demonstrate good work ethic/habits,
Follow supervision and suggestions of management for improvement of service,
Maintain effective and courteous working relationships with parents, campers, co-workers, and community members.
Demonstrate good citizenship, honesty, and ethical behavior;
Be willing to cooperate with other employees and the public.
THE SELECTION PROCESS
begins with an application review for legibility and minimum qualifications. Only the applicants whose application materials clearly demonstrate the ability to and/or experience in performing the job tasks, as listed above, will be invited to interview with the Selection Panel. Candidates selected for a hiring interview will be contacted via email with their specific interview date, time, and location. Interviews for summer positions are tentatively scheduled for May 6

through May 9

, 2024.
All employment offers are contingent upon criminal background review via fingerprint submission for applicants over 18 years of age and provision of evidence of freedom from tuberculosis.
High school students under the age of 18 must obtain and submit a copy of their student work permit upon receiving employment offer. Student work permits must be submitted by May 20
th
, 2024. Such documentation can be acquired from the attending school or the School District Administrative Office.
Every individual who is employed by the City must complete and sign the U.S. Government form I-9 and provide documentation required by law showing that he/she is eligible to work in the United States. A list of acceptable documentation is available in the Human Resources Office.
