The Danville Police Department made the following promotions during two ceremonies held last week .
   Tim Jones was promoted on Dec . 28 to deputy chief from assistant chief following Chris Wiles’ promotion to chief of police earlier in the month . Steve Richardson was promoted from the rank of captain to assistant chief .
   On Dec . 29 , the following promotions took place:
   Paul Deel was promoted from the rank of lieutenant to captain .
   Richard Marlowe and Todd Shively were promoted from the rank of sergeant to lieutenant .
   Ian Smith and Larry Land were promoted from the rank of corporal to sergeant .
   Jordan Land and Carnell Jackson were promoted from officer to the rank of corporal .
   The Danville Police Department congratulates everyone for their achievements .
