Sausalito Un - Police Chief Gregory Promotes Six Officers Welcomes New Employees 26 January 2024 ( news )

Police Chief Stacie Gregory
has promoted
six veteran officers
to positions of greater authority within the department .
The promotions were officially recognized at a swearing - in and badge - pinning ceremony in the banquet room of the Spinnaker Restaurant on Saturday , January 13 .
The ceremony began with the introduction of Gregory , a 26 - year veteran of the department , as Sausalito ' s
21st police chief
by City Manager Chris Zapata .
Chief Gregory then introduced the promoted officers — along with two new employees of the department — before they were formally sworn - in by City Clerk Walfred Solorzano .
Lieutenant Brandon Rodgers
has been with the department since 2006 and was promoted to sergeant in 2016 . During his time in Sausalito , he has served as a bicycle patrol officer , detective , field training officer , and boat operator , among other roles . Most recently , Lieutenant Rodgers served as the department ' s training manager .
Lieutenant Brian Mather
has been with the department since 2008 and was promoted to sergeant in 2022 . During his time in Sausalito , he has served as a detective , field training officer , defensive tactics instructor , and tactical boat operator , among other roles . For his outstanding performance , Lieutenant Mather has been recognized as department employee of the year three times , most recently in 2019 .
Sergeant Nick White
was hired in 2010 . His current responsibilities include serving as a field training officer , pepper spray instructor , firearms instructor , and bicycle instructor . Sergeant White was recognized as police department employee of the year in 2022 . Within the department , he is known as "Nickopedia" for his ability to remember names and other bits of information .
Sergeant Edgar Padilla
was hired in 2016 and promoted to corporal in 2022 . His responsibilities within the department include serving as a field training officer , taser instructor , bicycle officer , and boat operator . He also assists with fleet management and is known for his ability to fix almost anything . Corporal Padilla received the Mark Thomas award in 2018 and was also the recipient of a Life Saving Award .
Corporal Adam Clerici
was hired in 2017 . His responsibilities within the department include officer in charge , field training officer , and firearms instructor . When not at work , Corporal Clerici enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf .
Corporal Ryan Walsh
was born and raised in Sonoma County and is a graduate of Sonoma State University . He was hired by the department in 2019 . His current roles include field training officer , officer in charge , and domestic violence liaison . In his free time , Corporal Walsh enjoys playing softball and travelling with his wife and two dogs .
Officer Mikayla Royer
is a fifth - generation police officer and the most recent addition to Sausalito ' s police force . When not at work , she enjoys spending time with her family , playing with her two dogs , and reading .
Parking Enforcement Officer Brigid Keegan
joined the department after a 22 - year career in customer service . Outside of work , she loves outdoor activities like running , hiking , and birding . She also volunteers in her niece ' s second grade class .
Corporal Walsh was unable to attend the ceremony and will be formally sworn in at a later date .
With the promotions , Chief Gregory completes her assembly of a command team for the 22 - member department that also includes
